               What's this? It's a famous carnival in
New Orleans and also a big holiday, it lasts for three and sometimes
four months. During the time it is celebrated people go to street
wearing costumes which are usually in gold, green and purple colors.
They also dance to the rhydom of the music that is played, some
people are there just to watch what is going on. That is also
a time of the year when people have picnics. This year, it will
happen from January to March. It's time to enjoy life, party and
                have a good time.
              RECOMMENDATIONS
At this time of the year, New Orleans is visited by thousands
of people coming from other places. Therefore finding a place
to stay is necessary and if you want to be, make sure reservations
                are made in advanced.
Most of the Central Business District hotels require 4 or 5 days
minimum stays, and they steadily book the rooms beginning in August
and most of the hotels are often booked by December.
Don't wait until January! Waiting to make
reservations usually isn't a good idea if you have definitely
decided to enjoy Mardi Gras in New Orleans. You might get lucky,
                but there is no guarantee..
              TRANSPORTATION!
If you are a visitor and you are there for the first time, find
out how far the hotel is from the celebration as some of the streets
near by are closed or you will have to walk a lot.
Remember that taxicabs are difficult to find at this time, it's
a good idea to get a map of the city, and study the areas you
                will be visiting.
